1. Who we are

ConvertMate.in is an online file conversion and productivity tool operated from India. We provide free and paid tools for converting PDF, image, video and audio files, along with utility calculators.

2. Files you upload

When you use our conversion tools, you upload files to our servers or third-party processing services. Here is exactly what happens:

• Files are uploaded securely over HTTPS encryption
• Files are processed for conversion only — we never read, analyze or store the contents
• All uploaded and converted files are permanently deleted from our servers within 1 hour
• We do not share your files with any third party except the conversion API (CloudConvert) which also deletes files after processing
• We never use your files for training AI models

3. Information we collect

We collect minimal information to provide our service:

• Usage data: Pages visited, tools used, browser type, device type and country — collected anonymously via Google Analytics
• Payment data: When you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card or UPI details — Razorpay handles all payment data securely
• Email address: Only if you sign up for a Pro account or contact us directly
• Browser storage: We use localStorage to remember your API keys and daily usage count — this data stays only on your device

4. Cookies and tracking

We use the following cookies and tracking tools:

• Google Analytics: To understand how people use our site (anonymous, no personal data)
• Google AdSense: To show relevant ads to free users. Google may use cookies to personalize ads
• Razorpay: For payment processing on Pro plan pages

You can opt out of personalized ads by visiting Google's ad settings at g.co/adsettings.

5. Third-party services we use

• CloudConvert (cloudconvert.com) — For PDF, video and document conversion. Files are deleted after processing.
• Razorpay (razorpay.com) — For payment processing. Governed by Razorpay's privacy policy.
• Google Analytics — For anonymous usage statistics
• Google AdSense — For displaying ads to free users
• Anthropic Claude API — For AI PDF summary feature. Documents are processed per their privacy policy.

6. Data security

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS (SSL encryption)
• Files are automatically deleted within 1 hour
• We do not store payment information
• API keys you enter are stored only in your browser's localStorage — not on our servers

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Know what data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of analytics and advertising cookies
• Contact us with any privacy concerns

8. Children's privacy
